Founder’s Week: CCS Jamming Session Day 4

On August 22, 2024, the CCS Confederates Student Council initiated a jamming session held at the Computer Center lobby. The CCS council arranged a karaoke setting where CCS students could come over and showcase their talents for seriousness or for fun.

I learned how to be an active listener and a supportive member of the audience. At first, I expected the event to be not as fun as it was because when I looked at my classmates, they looked like they were not ones to sing in front of a crowd. But when I saw them in front, I was surprised to see how confident they were in sharing their moves and voices with us. It made the session quite a memorable experience. I made several discoveries about the identities of our fellow Trojans. It left a lasting impression on me. The most satisfying part of the jam session were the climaxes of each karaoke song. It amazed me how techy people could also pull hardcore choruses on talent nights. It made me more appreciative of each and everyone’s sense of individuality through music.

This experience motivated me to see the fun in the field of academia. Seeing my fellow coursemates enjoy the session made me enjoy the moment too. I will continue to join jamming sessions like this in the coming years. I see it as an effective mood booster and relaxant that paved the way for an inarguably enjoyable day indeed.

Because of this activity, I am refreshed and revitalized from all the stress from my fair share of daily errands and school activities.
