Founder’s Week: CCS ExecConnect Recruitment

The CCS ExecConnect Recruitment event was held during the duration of the CCS Founder’s Week, which spanned from August 14 to 16 from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM in the afternoon. The event was held on the grounds just outside the Uytengsu Hall building. This activity is meant to help the committees under the Confederates Student Council of CCS search and recruit members into their cause.

I initially expected there to only be a small number of committees under the Confederates Student Council, and so I never expected there to be so many—logistics, infomedia, aesthetics, etc. I was surprised at how fervently each committee tried to recruit members under their wing. It even seemed like a competition, in a positive way, of course. I signed up under the aesthetics committee since the council did suggest that we list ourselves into the committees that would fit our skill sets more. The registration was incredibly smooth since it was done through QR codes and through Google Forms. Overall, a very nice recruitment event.

The recruitment event changed my overall perspective of the college. Before, I only saw the faculty and staff working behind the scenes, but after seeing just how many committees there are, now I see that even the students themselves are running things to keep the college in its prime. Since I have recruited myself into the aesthetics committee, my involvement with my committee will continue as long as there are projects to be done and programs to be finished. Recruitment activities like these are extremely beneficial to students of colleges, as this can help introduce students to the committees and ensure a more surefire way of recruiting members. If I could do the event again, I wouldn’t change anything.

Because of this activity, I am now part of the aesthetics committee, serving as their member. I will be helping my committee with designing and making designs that will be used for events.
