Run For a Paw

On November 16, 2024, Run for a Paw was initiated by the Young Entrepreneurs Society of Silliman, which marked its start at 4:00 AM in the Pantawan Boulevard. Together with my friends, we ran a 5K route.

I learned how to sustain my energy all throughout the run, which was quite challenging but very rewarding at the same time. Initially, I expected it to be just an ordinary run with strangers, but it was the whole opposite. It felt like I was running with my family, bringing little angels shaped like dogs. It surprised me when I saw how many people participated in the event. It made me realize how much of a dog lover Dumaguete City is. It made my love for dogs and people grow. I went to touch and wave to a bunch of dogs, which made me so happy as a dog lover. The cause that we were running for and the lovely faces of the dogs and dog owners around me were the things I found most satisfying. They just made my day.

This experience made me see the impact of dogs in the lives of humans and the impact of humans in the lives of dogs. It moves me that people care about them just as much as I do, and it’s great to see how many people share my ideals about these wonderful creatures. I wish to show more people about the impact of this event and how many lives they could change just by running for a dog. I will join many more of these runs in the future and invite more of my friends and family. Together, we could make the world a better place by having more dogs run around it. If I could do this project again, I would bring my own dogs to Dumaguete to experience this type of event and so they could make more fur friends as well.

Because of this activity, I have expressed my love for dogs and have made an impact in their lives. As a dog’s life advocate, I vouch for more initiatives like this and will forever support organizations that cater to these types of movements.
