SONIC BLOOM: Hibalag Concert for a Cause
On August 26, 2024, SONIC BLOOM: Hibalag Concert for a Cause was held at the Hibalag Stage, Ravello Field. It aimed to support the lives of the children at Zoe Children’s Home Foundation. After it was announced that there would be the presence of the said event, I eagerly got up and decided to be on the audience team to support the organizers’ cause and to help the children as an active participant in the raffle draw.
The event taught me a lot. I learned how to impart love and empathy, especially to children who I am not related to by blood, and became more aware and compassionate of the needs and sectoral conditions of our society. It made me realize I could make an impact even just by a simple act of charity. It made me happy to imagine that my donation would soon put smiles on the children’s faces. Simple acts of kindness can indeed make a difference in the world. Initially, I expected this activity to be misaligned with my interests and schedule. Then I realized it wasn’t what I thought it was. It was a very fun event, and it made my time worthwhile. Their lovely voices never went in vain, as the band and singers were very good. It filled my heart with love, warmth, and appreciation. The efforts of the organizers to reach out to these children in need were undeniably admirable.
I loved how they chose not to overlook the fact that children’s lives in orphanages mattered. It became an eye-opener for me for my capability as a young citizen in the Philippines. It made me aware of the things I could do as a student to go out and search for my purpose and meaning in helping others. Now that I have experienced this kind of activity, I am more than motivated to become part of this growing charity initiative, and I plan and envision placing myself in a charitable organization one day. I will keep track of activities like these in the meantime to impart what I can. I see more than many benefits just by joining once in this event. If I could do the project again, I would do it earlier and widen my reach to people, so more people could become more aware of it and more participants would be enticed to come forward and become part of the charity team.
Because of this activity, I am now equipped with a full heart and an open mind. I promise to always leave space for more. Especially for wonderful experiences like these that are ones to treasure and cherish forever.
